Teach for OLLI
Teach for OLLI
OLLI is currently seeking instructors to teach day, evening and Saturday courses and workshops in a wide variety of areas, including art, foreign language, history, current events, international affairs, government and politics, philosophy and the social sciences. Instructors are needed in Sioux Falls, Brookings, Chamberlain and Vermillion.
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute offers instructors an opportunity to teach adult learners who have a passion for learning and a curiosity about many things. At OLLI there are no grades, no credit, no tests--just the pleasure of sharing your knowledge and experience with those who greatly appreciate that gift. These unique students truly appreciate their courses and the expertise of those that teach them.
- Course scheduling is flexible, but typically a course meets once per week for two to six weeks, 90 minutes to two hours per class. You may also choose to offer a single lecture on a compelling topic. Classes are offered days, evenings and Saturday mornings. OLLI has three terms per year: fall (Sept. - Oct.), winter (Jan. - Feb.) and spring (Apr. - May). Read current and past course descriptions.
- Preference is strongly given to those who have had significant teaching experience.
- OLLI reserves the right to select or reject courses based on the needs of the program and interests of its members.
- Instructors are paid a contact hour fee, although some generously donate all or a portion of their compensation back to OLLI. Learn more about instructor compensation.
